Microneedling Skin Therapy
What does Microneedling mean?
Microneedling is an advanced skin treatment that involves working over the skin with a metal cartridge needle causing intentional, light trauma to the epidermis and epidermal junction. This action helps to stimulate the body’s natural repairing mechanism and in-turn boost collagen and fibroblast production. The results will leave the skin looking rejuvenated and refreshed and help to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scarring and pigmentation.
I don’t have any industry qualifications; can I still enrol on the course?
Microneedling is an advanced skin therapy treatment. Its use of needles causing light trauma to the skin means that it does require some previous experience and/or existing qualifications to train in.
How much work will the Microneedling course entail?
This course requires some at-home learning via your course training manual followed by a concise online assessment to ensure you have read and understood the contents of the treatment theory. We estimate you will need around 2-4 weeks to learn the theory in your spare time around a busy lifestyle. Once complete, you will be required to attend a half-day morning session at our academy where you will undergo a full treatment procedure on a live model with our lead technician Danielle where she will assess your learning and understanding of the procedure. You will then be awarded a certificate of completion and able to offer microneedling treatments as a qualified technician.
When will I be able to charge to perform Microneedling skin therapy treatments?
Once you have completed your MAE Cosmetics Academy course, you will be awarded a certificate of completion which qualifies you to perform microneedling skin therapy treatments commercially. It is your responsibility to have the correct insurance and procedures in place that comply with law for the safe practise of your new skill. You will be taught about the various areas you will need to comply with on your course.

Where do I get all the equipment I’ll need for the course?
We’ve got you covered! When choosing our full microneedling course, a full treatment kit is included in the price of your course. This includes everything from the microneedling machine and needles, to the product kit to create fully bespoke facial treatments for your clients. The course option without a treatment kit means it will be your responsibility to ensure you have your own microneedling device and product kit to use on your academy session and beyond.
Once your course place has been paid in full, we’ll send you your learning material ahead of your practical academy session. You will then recieve your treatment kit at the academy on your practical day.

Semi-Permanent Brows
What does Semi-Permanent MakeUp (SPMU) mean?
Semi-permanent makeup, often known as cosmetic tattooing, dermal-pigmentation, permanent makeup or micropigmentation is the process by which we tattoo pigment within the dermal layer of the skin to create a lasting makeup effect. Most commonly used for eyebrows, eyeliner, and to line or colour the lips, the process uses a motorised (rotary) pen with precision needles to deposit the pigment within the skin. SPMU eyebrows are not to be confused with micro-blading, which is another form of cosmetic tattooing, whereby the technician uses a hand tool to deposit pigment.
I don’t have any industry qualifications; can I still enrol on the course?
Yes you can! We have designed our SPMU course to suit everyone, whether you are new to the industry, or already an experienced beautician. Depending on your level of experience, you will either be enrolled on our 2 or 3 day course which will be tailored specifically to your existing qualifications so you’ll complete the course with everything you’ll need to perform SPMU eyebrows yourself.
How much work will the SPMU course entail?
This course aims to shape your career, providing you with a new skill with excellent potential for self-growth and high-earnings and so your time is an investment into your future. Each course is tailored to your existing qualifications and will be made up of at-home learning, a number of model case studies over a period of time, as well as 2 or 3 in-house training days with our lead-technician and founder Danielle, and a final assessment day where your skills are put to the test. To complete, this course will take hard-work, dedication and on-going passion in order to reach your full potential.
How long will it take me to complete the course?
With a mixture of at-home learning, case studies, training days and assessments, it is hard to say exactly how long it will take you to complete the course, as everyone learns at different rates, with lots of variables that may affect the time it takes. However, on average, we estimate it will take approximately 6 months to complete your MAE Cosmetics Academy course.
The course incudes 2 or 3 in-house practical Academy days at our clinic in Norwich. The number of days will depend on if you are enrolled on the course with existing beauty qualifications or without. This course involves plenty of study and on-going practise and so it will vary between each student as to how long it takes.
